Uganda’s total primary energy supply (TPES) per capita of 0.35 toe/pc is about five times less than the world average and is less than the Africa average of 0.66 toe/pc but is similar to that of neighboring countries like Tanzania, Kenya and Sudan. However, Uganda’s energy intensity, defined as TPES per GDP is Very High twice that of Africa (1.65 toe/1000, 2000$ versus 0.79) and five times higher than world average (0.31) in this regard Uganda is similar to Tanzania but has about 50% more energy intensity than neighboring Kenya or Sudan

SCHOOL OF ENERGY STUDIES OPENS IN AUGUST

 

The Energy Institute of Uganda will open the School of Energy Studies designed to provide hands on programmes for its students, in August 2010.

The School will offer both certificate and Diploma courses on Energy Management and Management in Petroleum Industry and Economics, run on Semester basis with Day and Evening programmes.
